Ferry cancellations and ongoing disruption on Belfast to Cairnryan sailings

A number of sailings on the Stena Line route between Belfast and Cairnryan have been cancelled or rescheduled since yesterday evening following an 'operational incident' at Loch Ryan Port.  

The latest in a number of sailings from Belfast to Cairnryan at 07.30 has been cancelled and rescheduled with an information notice reading "Due to operational circumstances the 0730am departure Ex Belfast VT4 has been cancelled.

All 0730 passengers/vehicles have been transferred onto an 1130am departure. Latest check in 1100am. Stena Line apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Many passengers have people have been taking to social media to complain on the lack of informaton being provided.  

One said "@StenaLineUKIE good evening! Any danger of sorting out the Cairnryan to Belfast route this evening! Currently starving to death looking at the grounded 7:30pm sailing … it’s nearly half past 10".

Another said "Just got text to say all on 11.30 am on Thursday 9th now transferred to 15.30. However, Stena have not managed to update either their web page or telephone answering service!"
