Steel girders for the town's new £40 million Northern Regional College' started rising from the building’s concrete foundation this week — right on schedule.
It is anticipated that over 100 construction jobs will be created with approximately 300 sustained during the building phase of the Coleraine project alone. Along with these full-time jobs, over 1,000 weeks of training will be provided for new apprentices across a range of construction-related trades.

East Londonderry MLA Maurice Bradley said "It is pleasing that after months of demolition of the old NRC building, the new build is beginning to emerge from the base of the site. It is amazing to stop a few minutes and admire the skill of those who are working on the steel frame.
"It is good to see the building works commence and I look forward to the evolution of the building in the months ahead."
