'Glamping pods' proposed for Limavady

Grazing land on the top of the East side of Binevenagh Mountain, overlooking Castlerock and Coleraine could soon host a new tourist offering, in the form of seven glamping pods.

Plans have been lodged for a proposed development of seven timber-framed glamping pods on land 1030m West of 58 Ballyhackett Road, Limavady.

Applicant Ryan McCready says his proposals aim to provide high quality off-grid eco-tourist accommodation in an exceptional location, suited for short stay getaways, local business / recreational activities, reconnecting with nature and the natural world, and for those wishing to stop on their hiking and cycling journey through the North Coast, International Appalachian Trail and Ulsters ways.

The proposed scheme comprises of 7 timber pods, 6 designed for primarily couples and the 7th designed specifically for disability accessible and compliance and could also be used for larger extended families.
