Kristina Trufelli, Former Co-Owner of Barry’s Portrush, Passes Away

Yesterday, Kristina Trufelli, the previous co-owner of Barry’s, passed away. The Trufeli family had owned Barry’s for a period of 93 years.

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this afternoon Alderman Norman Hillis said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the untimely passing of Kristina Trufelli, the former managing director of Barry’s Portrush.

“According to my understanding, her declining health played a significant role in her decision, along with her sister Lisa, to sell the renowned entertainment establishment in 2021. Kristina was a wonderful person who, together with her sister Lisa, assumed responsibility for running Barry’s Portrush following the death of their father Frank.

“She had a great affection for both the family business and Portrush. It is heartbreaking and regrettable that she had so few years to enjoy after selling the business. Kristina and the Trufelli family have given so much to Portrush and generations of Barry’s Portrush patrons, providing them with many cherished memories. I extend my condolences to the entire Trufelli family and her numerous friends.”

An online funeral notice reads : TRUFELLI – 29th March 2023, peacefully, Kristina Evelyn (Stina), beloved daughter of the late Frank and Kirsten, step-daughter of Alice, dearly loved mother of Francesca and Max, much loved sister of Lisa, sister-in-law of Garth and dear aunt of Rebecca, Benjamin, Oliver and Louisa.
