Women in Business and the Causeway Enterprise Agency celebrated International Women’s Day on Friday past by hosting their 3rd Annual Female Entrepreneurs Conference.
The event was hosted at the Galgorm Resort and Spa where nearly 400 attendees enjoyed thought provoking insights and honest advice from industry experts to help their businesses grow and thrive.
Delegates at the conference heard from three keynote inspirational speakers, Tracy Schmitt; Josephine Fairley, co-founder of Green & Blacks and Channelle, Lady McCoy, co-founder of Chanelle Pharmaceutical Group and star of RTE’s Dragon’s Den, a local panel of 5 successful entrepreneurs and two breakout experts.
To coincide with the event, Women in Business launched its exciting new 3-year Female Enterprise Programme, ‘Yes You Can’ which is a collaboration between Women in Business, the 11 Local Councils and Invest NI. Six local entrepreneurs went head to head in a Pitching Competition, the overall winner Sarah McAnallen received £5,000 for her business McAnallen and the five runners up Robyn McWhiter, Sweet Robyn’s Ltd., Alison Drennan, Beechfield Flower Farm, Jill Peterson, Stables Flower Co., Ilse van Staden, Ke Nako Biltong and Ailis Mone, Esther Women Ltd.
Roseann Kelly, Women in Business Chief Executive explained, “As Northern Ireland’s leading business organisation for women, it is only right that we celebrate International Women’s Day with a host of inspirational speakers at our annual Entrepreneur Conference. Nearly 400 delegates attended this event, which was our most successful to date.
“The launch of our ‘Yes You Can’ Enterprise Programme through the £20K Pitching Competition created an extra dimension to the conference, and it was really encouraging to see our local talent at their best. I am really looking forward to this programme being implemented over the next three years.”
