Top Austrian travel writers and bloggers have been exploring Northern Ireland this weekend. They were here as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.

The journalists’ packed itinerary included a chance to enjoy Belfast’s Culture Night, and visit some of our excellent visitor attractions including Titanic Belfast, SS Nomadic and Crumlin Road Gaol. The group also spent time in Londonderry, taking part in a walking tour of Derry’s historic walls, with stops at the Guildhall, the Tower Museum and the Walled City Brewery. During their drive along the Causeway Coastal Route, the journalists spent time at the Dark Hedges, the Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge.

Zoe Redmond, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Central Europe, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite these influential travel writers to visit Northern Ireland. Their articles and blogs will reach over 5 million people in Austria, helping to raise awareness of the many things to see and do on a holiday in Northern Ireland.

“Tourism Ireland has a busy Autumn promotional programme under way right now – to showcase Northern Ireland. We are promoting the Causeway Coastal Route, as well as other iconic experiences like the walled city of Derry and Titanic Belfast. With our spectacular scenery, world-class visitor attractions and good value accommodation, Northern Ireland truly is a ‘must see’ destination. Our message is that there has never been a better time to come and visit Northern Ireland.”
