A MULTI-AGENCY search for a missing person has been called to a halt.

Police officers, paramedics, over 100 search technicians and search and rescue boats along with HM Coastguard 199 from Preswick were all tasked to assist in the search, which started at around 6.30pm yesterday evening in a desperate attempt to find a missing male in the Randalstown / Lough Neagh area.

The search was launched after the missing man’s car was found in the area along with personal possessions in a nearby forest.

The search was stood down at around 3am ( Saturday 6th March ) as the missing person was found safe and well.

It is understood the missing man was from the Limavady area.
