Aladdin Off to a Flying Start!

1 Mins read

FRIDAY 9th December saw the launch of c21 Theatre Company’s Christmas pantomime, Aladdin, at The Braid Arts Centre, Ballymena, which will run until the 22 December 2016. This year sees c21’s 10th anniversary in the Braid and they celebrated in style on their opening night with a VIP reception.

In addition to the VIPs, c21 invited theatre goers to rub the Magic Lamp, enter the cave of wonders and be transported on a flying carpet ride into the mystical world of the Far East on their opening night.

Co Founder of c21 Theatre Company and Producer of Ballymena’s very own panto Aladdin, Stephen Kelly said; “People have reacted really well to the show and we are overjoyed with how the performance went on opening night. Aladdin is such a lovely traditional show but I think the surprises we had in store went down a treat.

“Whilst everyone knows the story of Aladdin, no one has heard it told like this before. We have an amazing cast, including a Widow Twanky character as well as the Genie and the evil Abanazar. Of course, our heroes of the show, Aladdin and Princess Jasmine just shone in their roles, I’m so proud of the cast for really having fun with the performance and making sure the audience had fun too”.

“To celebrate our opening night and our tenth year in The Braid in Ballymena, we’re giving one lucky family a full night out, with dinner in Fratelli at Galgorm and tickets to the show during the final week, all you have to do is enter the competition on our Facebook page!”

Will true love come smoothly for Aladdin and The Beautiful Princess in this rag to riches story, or will the evil Abanazar capture the Genie of the Lamp and spoil Aladdin’s dreams?

Tickets are on sale now at the Braid, contact 02825 635 077 or online via www.thebraid.com. Make sure to like c21 Theatre Company on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for exclusive updates, competitons and show information.
