The local Alliance Party has extended its condolences to the family and friends of John Dallat MLA, who passed away earlier today.

Alliance Alderman Yvonne Boyle, who remembers campaigning alongside Mr Dallat during several Assembly and Westminster elections, said, “John was a tireless political representative for this area. As a former Deputy Mayor of Coleraine, I pay tribute to him as the first nationalist Coleraine Deputy Mayor 1995-1996 and Coleraine Mayor 2001-2002.”

“On behalf of myself, Councillor Chris McCaw and everyone in our local Alliance association, I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to his daughter, our colleague Councillor Helena Dallet O’Driscoll, the wider family circle and friends at this time.”
