The Annual General Meeting of the Ballycastle Branch of the Royal British Legion took place in the Parish Centre, Ballycastle on Thursday 24th
The Chairman welcomed the President, guest speaker and members.
The Chairman reminded, members present of the Annual Remembrance Day Service at the War Memorial on the Sunday 10th November, starting at 1045.
Muster at 1030.
*A Service of Remembrance at the Bonamargy War Graves* would follow. The Chairman invited all members of the branch to attend.
*A special invitation is extended to the Community* to join in Remembrance Services and to remember those from Ballycastle and hinterland who gave
their lives for liberty.
In the evening a Service of Remembrance will take place in St James’s Parish Church Ballycastle at 7 o’clock, Community representatives and the
public are invited to attend
At the meeting the Branch launched its *“Poppy Appeal”* and the Chairman, Poppy Appeal Organiser and members thank the public and those who support
the Poppy Appeal year on year.
That continued support is very much appreciated.
Armistice Day on Monday 11th November at 11 o’clock a Silence will be held at the War Memorial and the community are very welcome.
*The Rathlin Island Remembrance* is on the Sunday 17th November, followed by wreath laying at the War Graves of sailors and at sea to commemorate the sailors who lost their lives on board HMS Drake and HMS Brisk torpedoed and
mined on 2nd October 1917 during the First World War.
