Councillor Darryl Wilson is appealing for the public to provide any information to the police following anti-social behaviour on Sunday morning in Ballymoney.
Councillor Wilson said ‘At around 2am on Sunday morning on the Bann Road in Ballymoney, a large group of teenagers who were on foot (and making a considerable amount of noise) were involved in an altercation with a group of males driving a small white car (possibly a polo or corsa),one of the young men (from the car) confronted the teenagers with a baseball bat.
(It is also being reported that a large group of teenagers were involved in anti-social behaviour in this area and surrounding areas which may be linked to the above.)
A person living on the Bann Road heard the commotion and managed to stop the incident from escalating. If the concerned resident had not intervened we could be dealing with a serious injury or fatality/murder this morning.
Incidents such as these (including the anti-social behaviour) are wholly unacceptable and those responsible need to be brought to book as soon as possible.
If you were in the area at the time, or if you were passing by and noticed anything, please contact the PSNI on 101.
