Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has welcomed confirmation that traffic congestion in Riverside Retail Park is to be addressed with the exit to the Riverside Park north roundabout to be reopened.

The East Derry MLA said:

“Many residents and constituents had been in contact with me in regard to traffic congestion at Riverside Park. I contacted both the Roads Service and the management of Riverside Park to see if a resolution could be found.

“I therefore, welcome news that the exit from the park to the Riverside Park North roundabout will be reopened to alleviate traffic congestion experienced particularly at the Castleroe Access.

“The work which commenced yesterday and is expected to be completed by Friday 30th November 2018 will include widening the exit way to enable two lanes at the roundabout, moving the footpath into the landscaping as a result of widening of exit way, blocking off the top three exit roads with kerbs and low level planting and re-configuration of the directional signage on the ground works.

“As some completion works are still ongoing I would urge road users to respect the signals and drive with due care and attention.”
