Detectives are appealing for information following the report of an attempted robbery of commercial premises in the Main Street area of Portrush on Tuesday, 27 December.

At approximately 7.50pm police received a report that a man entered the shop and produced a knife and ordered the female member of staff to open the till. She refused and he then left the shop.

Detective Sergeant Wallace would appeal to anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1322 27/12/16. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
