David Morris Tweed (42), of Belford Park, Ballymoney, is also charged with ‘aggravated vehicle taking causing damage’.

It is alleged he took a Ford Fiesta without the consent of the owner and the vehicle was then involved in a collision with a Seat Leon.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court on January 2 where the defence barrister was Michael Smyth.

The matter has been adjourned to January 16 to get the defendant’s attitude to the charges he faces.
