Ballymoney man given suspended sentence for Benefit Fraud

A man was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

William Wright (68) of Hamilton Park, Ballymoney claimed Pension Credit and Housing Benefit totalling £7,232 while failing to declare employment. He was given a one month prison sentence suspended for one year.

He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
