Banned Portrush Driver At Wheel Of £100 Corsa Caught After Pulling Into Path Of Police Vehicle

1 Mins read

A BANNED Portrush driver was detected at the wheel of a £100 Vauxhall Corsa in Coleraine after his driving forced a police vehicle to brake to avoid a collision.

Arthur John Myles Hanson (30), of Glentaisie Park, came to police attention on September 30 this year when he was also uninsured which meant the vehicle was seized.

Defence solicitor John Murphy told Coleraine Magistrates Court on October 22 his client had bought the car for £100 with the intention of selling it on and he knew he should not have been on the road “full stop”.

The defendant was given a four months jail sentence, suspended for two years, and banned from driving for a year.
