Boyle congratulates Garvagh Museum on Accreditation Award

1 Mins read

Causeway Alderman Yvonne Boyle was delighted that representatives of Garvagh Museum, Wilber Patterson and David McMeekin, were presented with the Garvagh Museum Accreditation Certificate at the Museums Council Accreditation Awards Ceremony on 24th September at Carrickfergus Museum and Civic Centre.

Alderman Boyle, who is a member of the Museums Council NI, said: ‘It’s great that Garavgh Museum has been recognised in this way for their customer services, vibrant displays and maintenance of nationally recognised accreditation standards.

When I was a Councillor on the legacy Coleraine Council I recall how much work Garvagh Museum did to provide interesting collections for the public to view and enjoy. It’s ongoing role and presence within the Causeway Museum Services continue to this day.

As a Museum Council NI Member representing Causeway Coast and Glens Council, I was particularly pleased when Garvagh Museum was recognised by this award and to personally congratulate Wilber and David, whose years of voluntary service, among others, have contributed to the Museum’s ongoing success.’
