Bradley saddened by bank closures

1 Mins read

MLA Maurice Bradley has said: “I am always sad to learn of bank or post office closures; however, I am not surprised given the popularity of internet banking and telephone banking.

“Even when you go into some banks you are encouraged to carry out transactions with a machine rather than a person,” he said.

“For the elderly in our community going to the bank or building society is a social activity and is often part of a weekly routine, it is these bank users that I have sympathy for.

“These bank users are now going to have to travel for longer distances to manage their money which in many circumstances will be an inconvenience.”
