The design contract has been awarded for a capital investment project that will see new purpose built Colleges for Coleraine and Ballymena.

The contract for the new £84 million capital investment programme at Northern Regional College has been awarded to McAdam Design.

The projects are scheduled to be completed by summer 2022 and are funded by the Department for the Economy.

MLA Maurice Bradley has welcomed the announcement, he said: “It is wonderful to see these projects getting the green light.
“The new builds for both sites is much needed.

“Congratulations to the management of the College for getting the project to this stage.

“The new College in my own town of Coleraine is much needed.

“I know of the wonderful work that goes on by staff and students and I have no doubt that the new Campus will provide a broader offering for prospective students.
“In turn this will have a knock on effect on the local economy with an increase in skills base locally.

“This is an exciting project and I look forward to watching it evolve over the next few years.”
