A Bushmills man has been banned from entering or contacting Portrush Holiday Hostel and he is is also not to enter or go within 50 metres of ‘Shenanigans’ bar in Portstewart.

Lee McVicker (23), of Huey Crescent, Bushmills, is accused of causing criminal damage to fixtures and fittings to the value of £345 and making off without paying £45 for accommodation on March 28 this year. Another charge accuses him of causing criminal damage to a window at ‘Shenanigans’ on April 19 this year.

McVicker appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Friday May 25 on foot of a bench warrant. A defence lawyer said there had been a warrant after a non-appearance at court.

A police officer said he believed he could connect the accused to the charges. A prosecutor said bail, with conditions, was agreed.

District Judge Benita Boyd released the defendant on bail of £300 to an address in Portrush. Bail conditions include not to enter ‘Shenanigans’ or be within 50 metres of it and McVicker is not to enter or make contact with Portrush Holiday Hostel.

The case was adjourned until June 4.
