BUSHMILLS : Pipe Bomb Type Devices Believed To Have Exploded At Two Homes

FRIDAY 17TH MARCH 2017. PIC MATT STEELE/MCAULEY MULTIMEDIA. At approximately 0055hrs early Friday 17th March NIFRS, NIAS and PSNI were alerted to an explosion at a house in Woodland Court, Bushmills. On arrival the scene was cordoned off with residents on looking. During this time another explosion was reported to police on scene at a premises nearby at Ballaghmore Court. The window of this house was shattered and damage to the property was sustained. Both scenes are now cordoned off by PSNI officers. During this time another explosion was reported to police on scene at a premises nearby at Ballaghmore Court.

The window of this house was shattered and damage to the property was sustained. Both scenes are now cordoned off by PSNI officers.

It is believed two pipe bomb type devices have been found in the garden of one of the properties.  Causeway Coast Community understands that no one has been injured.

A police spokesperson said this morning “We are appealing to anyone with information relating to this incident to call police on 101 with the following reference: 43 17/ 03/ 17.
