Tourism Ireland’s golf promotional programme for 2020 kicked off last week in Orlando, Florida. Eleven (11) golf and tourism operators from Northern Ireland joined Tourism Ireland at the PGA Golf Merchandise Show, to promote and sell our world-class golf.
The PGA Show is one of the biggest golf exhibitions in the United States, attracting more than 41,000 golf professionals and journalists each year. Before the show kicked off, Tourism Ireland sponsored an event in the Golf Channel headquarters in Orlando – where the Northern Ireland operators had the opportunity to meet, and network with, around 40 influential US golf journalists.
“The American golf market remains a priority for Tourism Ireland in 2020 and we will continue to promote Northern Ireland as a top golf destination, capitalising on the hugely successful 148th Open at Royal Portrush last year and the global success of our golfers including Rory McIlroy”, said Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America.
“Golf is the world’s largest sports-related travel market and Tourism Ireland is working hard to drive home the message that a golfing holiday on the island of Ireland is about much more than a round of 18 holes – the combination of our world-class golf and our unique brand of hospitality plays a key role in attracting American golfers to visit.”
Tourism Ireland will roll out an extensive programme of activity to promote our world-class golf in the United States in 2020. Key American golf journalists will be invited to visit, to experience our fantastic golf offering. Tourism Ireland’s golf ads will air on the popular Golf Channel; and online ads will run on GolfChannel.com, encouraging American golfers to click through to great golf vacation offers on Ireland.com.
