The Causeway Coast Truck Festival Committee have announced that this years 2020 Causeway Coast Truck Festival has been cancelled due to the global pandemic.

The festival was due to take place on the 15th & 16th August 2020.

A spokesperson for the committee said:

“It is with deep regret and heavy hearts that the CCTF Committee have had to take the very hard decision to cancel our 2020 Festival in August which would have been in aid of our official charity the Air Ambulance NI.

This decision was definitely not taken lightly, as the whole CCTF Team wanted this years show to be a Thank You to all our fantastic Truck Drivers who are on the front line of this global pandemic.

After multiple conversations and looking into all options, including, maximising safe social distancing within the Paddock Area by reducing numbers and alternative dates later in the year, the decision was taken as a committee that we would be irresponsible and unsafe to run the 2020 Show in August, putting the health and wellbeing of all our truckers, staff, public, volunteers, their families and the wider Causeway Coast Community first during these unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

A spokesperson continued;

“We understand that this will be disappointing to all our Truckers, the public and everyone who is involved in making the show happen, and especially our Charity the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland who need events like the Truck Festival to help stay in the skies saving lives.

The Committee pride ourselves in wanting to bring a Celebration of all things Trucking to the Causeway Coast along with a Fun Family weekend for all who attend and we will continue to work on from this disappointment and be back BIGGER & BETTER in 2021.

So today we also announce that the Causeway Coast Truck Festival WILL RETURN in association with all our fantastic Sponsors in 2021 over the weekend of 21st & 22nd August 2021.

The whole CCTF Committee thank you for your continued support and hope you all and especially our fantastic frontline Truck Drivers, Doctors, Nurses, Carers, Shop Workers and ALL other Key Workers remain safe and healthy during this difficult time.

Stay Home, Stay Safe, Be Kind and we will see you all in 2021.”
