Causeway Coast Truck Festival is BACK for 2018

2 Mins read

The much anticipated Newbridge Restaurant Causeway Coast Truck Festival is back bigger than ever for its fourth year, taking place at the North West 200 Pits Area on Sunday 19th August 2018 with Public Gates opening at 10am.

This year the Causeway Coast Truck Fest will see over 500 of the finest show and working trucks from all over Ireland gather in this legendary venue, as well as visiting trucks from Scotland, Wales and England, each of them competing for 25 top prizes, including Best Tractor Unit, Best Light Commercial, Best Vintage – and of course the main prize they are all looking to take home on the day, the Truck of the Show. Each year the standard gets higher with some amazing entries already in each category for 2018.

Admission to the event is entirely free with something for all the family including face painting, bumper cars and bouncy castles at the Kids’ Zone, a Food and Trade Village which will showcase the offerings of the Causeway Coast, and headlining on the Anchor Complex LIVE Stage will be country star Cliona Hagan and her Band supported by local artist Yasmin Walker and back by popular demand The Simple Truth Band, alongside your host for the day Brian Moore.

Downtown Radio and Downtown Country will also be broadcasting LIVE from the Causeway Coast Truck Festival on the day, bringing the atmosphere of the show to listeners around the country.

Following the event the famous Causeway Coast Truck Convoy will leave the pits at 4pm following the route of the NW200 circuit taking in Portstewart, Coleraine and Portrush on its way.

As well as being a fantastic free family day out and an opportunity for the hard-working trucking community to come together, since its inception the aim of the CCTF has been to raise much needed funds for local charities. This year, after raising a staggering £30,592.77 in 2017, we are once again immensely proud to support The Air Ambulance Northern Ireland as our chosen charity.

Gareth Witherow from The Newbridge Restaurant said:
“We are proud to be the main sponsor once again for the The Newbridge Causeway Coast Truck Fest in 2018. Last year was such a huge success raising over £30,000 for the Air Ambulance NI, and it would be great to be able to raise more funds for this worthy charity again this year. We once again are offering our Perpetual Cup for Truck of the Show, so if you have a truck make sure you enter as the show judges might just pick you as the lucky winner. Once again we will be on site all day on Sunday with more free goodies and treats to hand out which all went down a storm at last year’s event.”
