The Causeway is of Giant Interest to India
The National Trust Giant’s Causeway recently took part in a Tourism Ireland UAE & India Sales Mission, meeting with key industry partners in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Mumbai and New Delhi to promote and grow the Northern Ireland tourism sector with UAE & Indian holiday makers.
The sales mission was an opportunity to raise the profile of the Giant’s Causeway as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and to promote the Causeway Coastal Route and the many attractions of the wider Causeway Coast area to two new and developing markets.
Speaking about the trip Alexandra Mehaffy, Tourism Development Manager for the Giant’s Causeway commented, “We were delighted to participate in Tourism Ireland’s sales mission and be part of the team involved in promoting the island of Ireland to the UAE and Indian markets. With approximately 100,000 visitors from the UAE and India travelling to Ireland last year, we recognise the importance and potential of these emerging markets.
“Our UNESCO World Heritage Site, stories of legendary giants and the stunning imagery of the beautiful North Coast in particular sparked a keen interest from the UAE and Indian travel trade and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors from both markets to the Causeway Coast in the months and years ahead.”
