Shimjithlal Meethalepokkoth (35), whose address was given as Harbour View in Ballycastle, is alleged to have committed the offences in July this year.
One charge is that he assaulted the woman on July 24 and the second is that he assaulted her on a date unknown between July 15 and July 23.
Defence solicitor Derwin Harvey told Coleraine Magistrates Court on October 15 the charges are to be contested and the case was adjourned to later this month.
A previous court heard the alleged injured party lives in Ballycastle.
Mr Harvey previously said the defendant had been working as a chef but lost his job “as a result of” the alleged incident.
At court in August Mr Harvey said his client had been bailed to a bed and breakfast in Ballymena but then obtained an address in Portglenone.
The defendant was originally released on £300 bail and was not to enter Ballycastle or contact the alleged injured party.
