Chivers wishes young cyclist speedy recovery

The Mayor of Causeway Coast & Glens Brenda Chivers has wished the young cyclist involved in a road traffic accident on the Edenmore Road, Limavady a speedy recovery.

Ms Chivers said:

‘News of this crash has shocked the local community. My thoughts and prayers go out to the young cyclist and his family, I hope he makes full recovery. I would urge anyone with information to bring it to the Police.’

A spokesperson for NIAS said ‘The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 15:48 on Monday 8 April following reports of a young male child cyclist having been knocked down on the Edenmore Road, Limavady.

NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic and an Emergency Crew to the scene.

The Charity Air Ambulance, with the HEMS team on board were also tasked to the incident.

Following initial assessment and treatment at the scene, the child was transferred by Air Ambulance to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.’
