Christmas Festive Fund Now Open

1 Mins read

Cllr Richard Holmes has welcomed the opening of Council’s 2019 Christmas Festive Fund. The fund supports towns, villages and hamlets to hold outdoor events to mark festive lighting with a grant of up to £250.

Cllr Holmes said: “This fund has proved very popular with our small rural villages to support Christmas events. Christmas is very much a family affair and the events help bring communities together and build relationships and a sense of belonging with year-round benefits.

“I would encourage all those interested in a Christmas outdoor event to apply to the Festive Fund. As a typical man who has often been found in the Christmas Eve shopping queue, I would encourage all applicants to apply early! The fund opens on Monday 26th August and closes at noon on Friday 20th September.”
