Ballymoney Councillor Darryl Wilson has expressed his delight at seeing record breaking numbers attending the Ballymoney Christmas Lights switch on. Cllr Wilson said:
I was delighted to see what appeared to be a record breaking crowd at the Christmas lights switch on this year.”
“A few changes were made this year including the repositioning of the stage, along with a few other logistical changes, I’ll be seeking feedback from constituents on these changes to ensure that the event is continually improving in the coming years.
“ I would like to commend Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council staff and our events team for their fantastic work in the lead up to, and during the event .”
The Mayor, BBCs Kerry McLean and a host of Local kids were centre stage for the main event and to assist with the big switch on.”
“The influx of people into the town was welcomed by local traders, many businesses rely on a busy festive period.”
In the last number of months we have seen several new businesses starting up in the town centre, which are the perfect compliment to the well established shops in Ballymoney. The shops offer a wide range of products making Ballymoney an ideal location for Christmas shopping.
“I would encourage people to continue to shop locally with a view to enhancing and expanding our retail capacity even more in the future.”
