Cllr Wilson Urges Public To Use Town Centre Car Parks As Ballymoney Fireworks Display Moves To The Showgrounds

1 Mins read

In a statement this morning Cllr Wilson said

“After lobbying to see a fireworks display return to Ballymoney for Halloween, year on year we have seen thousands of people attending the successful event at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre.

This year the council events team have relocated the event to Ballymoney Showgrounds (Monday 29th of October).

I would like to urge members of the public planning to attend the event to use the three main car parks in the town centre (Townhead Street, Main Street and Church Street). This will help avoid congestion on the North Road and on Charlotte Street, it will also ensure access is clear for the emergency services.

Several town centre businesses will be open late on the night for the Lantern parade and street carnival which will start at 6:30pm at Castlecroft.

It is my hope that this year’s event is as enjoyable as it has been in the past, that we retain large crowds and that town centre businesses benefit.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable half term break.”
