Cllr Wilson welcomes the progression of a £1.5 million Environmental Improvement Scheme for Ballymoney town centre

It is very welcome news that over £1.5million pounds will be invested in a public realm scheme in Ballymoney Town centre in the very near future. Council officials have been working diligently with the Department for communities to help deliver the much needed scheme.

At a meeting with the Department for Communities instigated by Council officers on 7th November 2017, the Department confirmed they had secured the necessary funding and the procurement process through the Central Procurement Directorate could commence. The Department confirmed the delay was due to current central government issues.

Officers anticipate a recommendation for the appointment of an Integrated Consultancy Team will be presented to Committee in March 2018.
