Coastguard assist with Medivac in Portstewart

Shortly before 5pm this evening, Coleraine Coastguard along with NIAS paramedics assisted a member of the public who had stumbled on rocks, near the pumping station on the coast road outside Portstewart, and had sustained a significant head injury.

A Coastguard spokesperson said “The injured man was treated by a rapid response paramedic, before being carried to safety in a stretcher by the Coastguard Team.

He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.”
