The Coleraine and District League Management Committee has decided to call a halt to the 2020-21 season.
Already suffering from last season’s league and knockout competitions not being completed following the first lock-down in March 2020, restrictions on the start date to this season and subsequent closure again by the Northern Ireland Executive and IFA, only one game had been played, this year.
Therefore, the Committee has taken the hard decision to cancel all scheduled football for the remainder of the season.
The Executive announced yesterday afternoon of a further lockdown until March 5 and there may be a possibility that it may be longer.
With so much uncertainty, no leagues or knockout competitions could be completed before the end of the season and the league management committee have reluctantly decided to pull the plug on the entire 2020-21 season.
This will also give the league management committee time to plan ahead for next season.
Further announcements will be made by the Management Committee on any decisions or forward planning as it happens.
