Coleraine College appeal to Community following Overnight Vandalism

1 Mins read

Staff at Coleraine College were met with disappointing scenes this morning when they opened up to find that a number of windows had been smashed around the school.

Posting on Social Media, a spokesperson for the School said : “Overnight, vandals had broken a number of windows around our school and tried, but luckily failed, to gain entry to the school building. These individuals, thought it to be a worthwhile pursuit to skulk into our grounds to engage in this criminal activity. Obviously these windows will have to be replaced, the cost of which will run probably to over £2000, this at a time when there is little enough money in education.”

“We would much prefer to see such money being spent on educational resources for our students to enhance their learning. The matter was reported to the PSNI who attended the scene this morning and have been able to get descriptions of the culprits from our CCTV, which will hopefully lead to prosecutions.”

“We appeal to the local community to come together to condemn this mindless act of vandalism and anti-social behaviour, and if anyone has any other information about the perpetrators, please report it to the PSNI. We are working hard in Coleraine College to provide a high quality learning experience for the young people of Coleraine and surrounding areas, and for our school to serve, and be a hub of the community. This will not deter us and will only make us more resolute to see our school flourish and prosper.”
