Coleraine man given Suspended Sentence for Benefit Fraud

A man was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court recently for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

William Stewart (66) of Ballindreen Road, Coleraine claimed Pension Credit totalling £14,499 while failing to declare capital. He was given a three month prison sentence suspended for two years.

Mr Stewart has repaid in full the money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
