Coleraine man refused bail

A man charged with attempted murder after a stabbing incident involving a ‘steak knife’ in Coleraine has been refused bail.

Gary Moore of Greenmount Avenue, Coleraine, has spent time on remand following his arrest last summer for a knife attack during which a man sustained a stab wound to his abdomen.

This morning a court heard that since last July, Moore has been granted bail on several occasions but has been re-arrested and remanded back into custody after either re-offending or breaching the terms of his bail.

Moore appeared via a videolink from Maghaberry, where an application for bail was made by his barrister Aaron Thompson.

Regarding the bail application, Judge Miller said: “I consider this wholly without merit and I refuse it.”
