Has Coleraine switched to Greenwich Mean Time two weeks early?

1 Mins read

The time on the Coleraine town hall clock since Monday has been one hour behind the rest of the United Kingdom.

A concerned Coleraine resident wrote into Causeway Coast Community yesterday raising some questions.

“Are businesses, shops, schools, buses etc now using Coleraine Mean Time (CMT) for the next two weeks or are they still using British Summer Time (BST). Presumably you would expect council offices to now be using the new CMT. The Business Support Market takes place outside the Coleraine town hall next Thursday 27th October between 1 pm and 4 pm. Will this market take place at the town hall according to the time on the clock just above the market or will it take place using the time being used by everybody else in the UK living outside the Causeway Coast & Glens area?

An internet search for ‘current time in Coleraine’ produces a result showing the time under BST and not CMT. A search for ‘Coleraine Mean Time’ produces no results.”
