Coleraine Woman Killed In Cambridge Collision

A woman who is believed to be originally from the Coleraine area and a former pupil of Coleraine High School was tragically killed in a collision with a moped yesterday in the Arbury Road area of Cambridge.

Lesley Bello-Hernandez ( 67 ), was walking along Arbury Road at about 2.10pm when she was involved in a collision with a moped. She was treated by paramedics but sadly was declared dead at the scene.

Hundreds of people have taken to social media to offer a tribute to the much loved French teacher.

Rebecca Robinson said: “Such sad news. She was a lovely lady and always kind. Thoughts are with her family. You will terribly missed.”

A 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking and possession with intent to supply drugs.

A 19-year-old woman was also arrested but has since been released under investigation.

Officers are appealing for anyone who has dash-cam footage of the collision or saw what happened to contact them.
