Concerns over speeding in Knocklynn area of Coleraine

BT Coleraine

MLA Maurice Bradley has recently met with representatives of the Department for Infrastructure in regards to reports of speeding concerns in the Knocklynn area of Coleraine. Taking to social media Mr Bradley said;

“The Department is unable to do anything about the issue at this stage. They advised that as part of their investigations they rely on PSNI figures for evidence of collisions and that no recent incidents on the stretch of road have been reported.”

Mr Bradley went onto say that the Department for Infrastructure has advised that all accidents should be reported to the PSNI. This allows the Department to build up a picture of the nature of the problem in this area.

He concluded “At the meeting, I highlighted the serious concerns that residents have in relation to speeding. I also detailed the number of times that the BT hub box, walls and fences have been damaged as a result of accidents in the area.

I have suggested another meeting in the coming months in a bid to review the situation.”
