Confiscation order against Northern Ireland Man

The Department for Communities Financial Investigation Unit obtained a Confiscation Order to the value of £1.00 against Hillis Wright at Antrim Crown Court today.

Hillis Wright (64) who claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit.

On 28 June 2018, the defendant pleaded guilty to two charges of dishonesty at Antrim Crown Court.

At the confiscation hearing the Court agreed that the loss to the Department through the defendant’s criminal activity amounted to £26,976.04 and granted a Confiscation Order in the amount of £1.00 based on assets held. The defendant must satisfy the order by 29 July 2019 or serve a 1 week prison sentence for non-payment of the order, which will remain payable.
