At tonight’s full Council meeting, a majority of Councillors backed Cllr Darryl Wilson’s proposal to see Council take ownership of, and to refurbish Edward Street Social Centre

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this evening, Councillor Wilson said :

“I am delighted that my proposal to see council take ownership and to refurbish Edward Street Social Centre go through full council tonight with a majority. (Provided restrictive covenants are removed)

This decision ensures that the Evergreen Club, Ballymoney Gateway Club, and indeed all local people will have an up to date community facility which is accessible to all.

The late Mollie Holmes had a vision for the social centre, that it be a suitable and affordable facility open to all, I was very proud this evening to not only protect that vision, but to ensure that it continues for generations to come.”
