Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council have regrettably announced the cancellation of all Council managed events with immediate effect until the end of June.

The decision was taken in line with the wider actions being taken in response to the global outbreak of Covid-19.

A council spokesperson said “Public health and safety is of paramount importance and this action, although disappointing to many, will assist in the efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus and protect the audiences and local communities, the participants and events staff.

Council will continue to review the situation and is preparing and planning for the delivery of events when it is safe to do so.”

The cancelled events are Ballymoney Spring Fair, Easter Street Theatre, NW 200 Fireworks and Concert, Rhythm of the Bann, Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival and the Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival.

Both events supported through the Council Tourism Events Funding Programme (TEFP) and events organised within the Borough by external event organisers are asked to continue to follow government advice from the PHA in relation to the planning and delivery of events and ‘mass gatherings’.

A council spokesperson concluded “We would like to thank the public for your ongoing understanding and support in these difficult times.
