The outdated Coleraine Leisure Centre on Railway Road, Coleraine has been identified as a priority capital project by elected members of Causeway Coast & Glens Council.
The Coleraine Chronicle revealed this morning that council are considering to bring in a private firm to run the new proposed leisure centre which is expected to cost between £15 – 20 million pounds.
The specialist firm if agreed to would take on lease of day to day operations of the facility generating revenue through customer charges. The local paper went onto say that ‘their focus would be to increase footfall and reduce losses”.
