Councillor Chivers urges vigilance following Covid-19 outbreak in the Limavady area

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin Councillor Brenda has expressed concern on the recent outbreak of COVID-19 in the Limavady area and the confirmed cases in Drumsurn village.

Cllr Chivers said, “This is small area and it is concerning that Covid -19 has been confirmed here. I have been in contact Council who are working with the Public Health Agency to ensure contact tracing and testing is taking place. I have asked for the mobile testing unit to be relocated to Drumsurn.

This breakout is a reminder that this virus is still with us and how quickly it can spread. People need to be vigilant, follow the guidelines, practise social distancing and continue regular hand washing. There is an onus on all of us to be responsible and keep people safe, we cannot become complacent.

My thoughts are with those affected and I wish them a speedy recovery.”
