Councillor Wilson demands immediate action to repair JDLC pool hoist

1 Mins read

Ulster Unionist Councillor Darryl Wilson has called for immediate action to repair the Pool Hoist at Ballymoney’s Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, which has been broken since May.

Councillor Wilson said : “It was brought to my attention earlier this month that the hoist which is used to help people with disabilities access the pool at the JDLC has been broken since May this year and has still not been repaired.

“I have been in touch with Council staff in a bid to ensure that the problem is rectified immediately.

“The repair of the hoist is now due to take place in the next few days.

“This situation is wholly unacceptable, our facilities should be available to everyone regardless of physical ability. Repairs to vital equipment such as the hoist in question should be carried out in a more efficient and timely manner.

I have raised the issue with the relevant council staff to ensure that there will not be similar unacceptable delays in future.”
