
Councillors at the Corporate Policy and Resources Committee agreed to proceed with a proposal put forward by UUP Cllr Darryl Wilson and seconded by DUP Alderman George Duddy to proceed with the acquisition of two enhanced Panasonic data projectors and associated cabling to improve the quality of imagery in the Chamber at the cost of £23,602.60.
Councillors had also been asked to recommend the acquisition of two Sony cameras, Bosch speaker enhancements and associated technologies allowing integration between the Bosch system and MS Teams costing £23,567.70, however the decision was taken to look at this again in six months time.
The ongoing cost is £1180 per annum for maintenance and support for the Projectors and controls.
A proposal by Sinn Fein Cllr Kathleen McGurk and seconded by SF Cllr Brenda Chivers to accept both the Sony camera and Bosch speakers as well as the Panasonic projectors was defeated with 4 votes for, 8 against and 1 abstention.
Cllr Darry Wilson’s proposal, seconded by Alderman Duddy was unanimously supported.
