Council’s operated gyms will not open tomorrow. The announcement follows as the Stormont Executive has directed that leisure centres and gyms may reopen from tomorrow.
In a statement, Council said “Members of the public should be advised that Council’s six indoor gym facilities will remain closed at this time.
Council is currently considering direction from the NI Executive and associated leisure industry guidance relating to the practical measures which are required to allow safe re-opening.
A re-opening date has not yet been agreed for Council’s gym facilities and staff continue to work in the background to ensure that when permission is given by Council, facilities can open at the earliest opportunity.
The gyms are located in Dungiven Sports Centre, Jim Watt Sports Centre, Sheskburn Recreation Centre, Coleraine Leisure Centre, Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre and Roe Valley Leisure Centre.
We hope to have further updates for you in the coming weeks.
As always we very much appreciate your on-going patience and continued support.
Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.”
