Council’s Planning Committee Approve Planning for An 87 Bed Hotel In Portrush

Council’s Planning Committee this afternoon approved Planning for an 87 bed hotel in Portrush.

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community shortly after the decision Councillor Joan Baird said “The plans are sympathetic to the Street scape and show retention of the front part of the historic Londonderry Arms Hotel.

The decision will now be referred to Historic Environment Division in Stormont for consideration as this includes demolition of part of the listed building.”

Alderman Hillis and Cllr Mulholland appeared on behalf of the hotel owner.

The approval was proposed by Alf Finlay and seconded by Cllr Joan Baird.

Alderman Hillis said ” I am really delighted that a key part of the jigsaw of the regeneration in Portrush has been put in place by the planning committee¬†passing this ¬£6.6 million development today. “
