At 1750hrs fire crews from Ballymoney were called to a farm on the Boyland Road, Ballymoney where on arrival discovered two cattle trapped in metal fencing.

At the time a specialist animal rescue appliance was deployed from Omagh however it was later stood down as local firefighters had used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the animals.

NIFRS would remind farmers and all members of the public that they have two dedicated animal rescue teams from Omagh and Newcastle and are always on call to assist with any rescues alongside local stations.
