CRS rescue man from River Bann in Coleraine

The Community Rescue Service responded to reports of a person entering the River Bann in Coleraine today.

A CRS Spokesperson said : “Following reports of a person entering the River Bann in the centre of Coleraine Bravo 5 was immediately launched. As the boat made its way upstream other CRS volunteers responded directly to the scene.

“The person was assisted from the river by one of our volunteers and handed over to the NI Ambulance Service for hospital treatment.

“A successful outcome to an event that may well have otherwise ended tragically.”
